I recently purchased these headphones to replace a 139.00 set of Bose headphones. These headphones blow the Bose ones away. Years ago I owned a set of the Sony MDR-5000 yet lost them somewhere. Anyway, I was attracted to the Bose because of the name, etc. They were however made very cheap and the wire broke where it entered one of the earcups. The Sonys are the exact oppositte. They are built solid and exactly what I needed. I play the drums and use them all of the time when playing my electronic kit. The sound quality is far superior to the Bose headphones and I am so happy I purchased them! You will not be sorry if you do the same.
