Sony BRAVIA DAV-HDX589W 5.1-Channel Theater System (Black) Just purchased this home theater system (”HTS”) to compliment my recently purchased Sony Bravia 46KDLW5100 LCD TV and my Sony Bravia BDP-360 Blu-Ray player. All I can say is, WOW! This was the first time I have ever purchased/owned a HTS and I am blown away. Set-up was easy (if you can follow simple instructions), the sound is incredible, and the system overall looks wonderful. Since I already had a Blu-Ray player hooked up to my TV via HDMI cable from the player to the TV, I decided to run a digital optical cable from the HTS receiver to the TV in order to get sound when watching Blu-Ray movies. It works perfectly and the cord was only 7 bucks or so. *Please Note* You will most likely need to go into your audio settings menu on your Blu-Ray player/TV to adjust a setting or two to make sure the sound is coming through at full volume i.e. I had to go to the audio settings on my Blu-Ray player and switch the BD audio to “Direct” in order to get the full sound coming through to the speakers.
Overall, the system is an incredible value for the money and if you purchase this system, you surely will not be disappointed.
