I just bought the Rat Zapper Ultra, but was skeptical even after reading some decent reviews here. I couldn’t wait for shipping so I purchased it at a local hardware store. I had read to not use the included bait, so I used my dog’s food. I put it under the house where I had a rat problem at around 11:00am, I just opened the crawl space around 4:00pm and saw the blinking red light and a tail protruding. I turned the unit off, dumped the large rat in a bag, there was no mess, or blood, and it looked like a fast humane kill. I had considered glue pads but decided they were inhumane, the traps are too gross for me, plus sometimes it doesn’t kill them right away therefore it’s not always humane either. I won’t do poison, because years ago I had problems with them crawling up in the walls and dieing, that makes the whole house reek for weeks.
