This has to be one of the flashiest cookware sets on the market. The highly polished stainless steel is mirrorlike. The 9-piece set includes a 2-quart saucepan with cover, 3-quart saucepan with cover, 8-quart covered stockpot, 10-inch skillet, and 5-quart covered sauté pan with extra “helper” handle. Each piece is made from a five-ply construction, which fuses an aluminum core between layers of stainless steel. The result is wonderful heat transference across the bottom and up the sides. Bottoms are permanently stamped with size and capacity. Special deep-draw lids ensure a tighter seal and minimize rattling. Each handle is individually cast of stainless steel, designed to accommodate large hands, and secured with polished stainless-steel rivets. They’re also comfortably curved, stay cool to the touch on the stovetop, and are oven-safe up to 500 degrees F. Hand washing is recommended, with a nonabrasive sponge–you won’t want to mar the gleaming finish of these pieces. –Matthew Evans

KitchenAid Five-Ply Stainless-Steel Clad 9-Piece Cookware Set Reviews
GREAT COOKWARE - nobody who’s used it would argue, and I also have some All-Clad pieces - the Kitchenaid actually cooks more evenly! Reviewers have commented about care: my set is over a year old, and still looks great. Why? a) NEVER use steel wool - if it’s burned on, soak it. b) I DO dishwash them (they come out fine). c) to remove discolorations (I do this after dishwashing) get a can of Cameo Aluminum and Stainless Steel Cleaner (in the same section as Bon Ami) - sprinkle some directly onto the pan, and wipe it around with a damp sponge. d) NEVER scrub (even with a sponge or plastic scraper) in a back-and-forth manner - go in circles. These pans have a slightly matt finish in the inside to help hide scratches, but it’s a swirled finish, not side-to-side (those back-and-forth scratches never come out) To get extra pieces Amazon.comdoesn’t carry, check out potsandpans.com. Amazon.com’s prices are the best but they only stock about 20% of what Meyer (Kitchenaid’s manufacturer) makes for this line!
